Luci d’Artista is certainly the most important event in the city of Salerno. Now in its seventeenth edition, the event is the perfect opportunity to visit the city and stop by King’s Cross Irish Pub, the best place in the historic centre!

Once again this year, the Luci d’Artista event will be renewed with a very special edition full of novelties. It will be an opportunity for inhabitants to rediscover the city in all its splendour and for tourists to discover all the charm of Salerno. For all those who would then like to take a break with good food and delicious beers, our King’s Cross Irish Pub will always be open.
Salerno is the lighting capital of southern Italy. In the latest edition of Luci d’Artista, there will be a zoo of mythological animals, with new creatures, and a giant tree that will wrap Piazza Flavio Gioia with its branches. The majestic Christmas tree will instead be located in Piazza Portanova.
Via dei Mercanti will offer, as always, a special glance but will not have the multicoloured flowers, already installed in Via Carmine and Via dei Principati.
In Via Settimio Mobilio the decorations have already been present for a few days, as have the lights in the trees in Via Roma. The Villa Comunale will again be transformed into a zoo with new animals. Precisely in the green lung in the centre of Salerno, the inauguration of the new edition of Luci d’artista is scheduled for Friday 15 November at 5.30 pm. Which, as always, will manage to attract the attention of thousands of tourists and visitors.

NEW FREEDOM SQUARE - SALERNO
Luci d’Artista 2021 is more than just a light show, in fact this year, unlike the last edition where the main theme was the marine world, you will find floral decorations, beautiful coloured flowers and Vietri ceramic reproductions. At the municipal villa, the theme will once again be the animal zoo, but with new creatures that will bring the animal world to life. Another novelty in Piazza Flavio Gioia, where a gigantic tree will envelop the entire square with its branches, while on Corso Vittorio Emanuele stylised chandeliers will be the stars, making the pedestrian area even more attractive and elegant.
Finally, typical Amalfi Coast lemons will illuminate Piazza Sant’Agostino, recalling the famous Vietri ceramics. So, once again, this edition will pay homage to and valorise the typical features of the Campania region.
EXHIBITION OF HANDCRAFTED CRIBS
At Tiesse Mega Store in Salerno, while waiting for the inauguration of Luci D’Artista 2021/2022, it is possible to admire the beautiful nativity scenes crafted by local artists. Fantastic nativity scenes with attention to the smallest details with waterfalls, balconies, stairs, arches, fountains and plants. CHRISTMAS TREE
The majestic Christmas tree, some 30 metres high, will be inaugurated in Piazza Portanova on 7 December.
ENLIGHTENING IN MORE THAN 15 THOUSAND READY TO RESTORE THEIR BALCONIES
The invitation to participate in the second edition of IlluminiAMO Salerno, the initiative conceived by Pippo Pelo that has no other purpose than to give ‘light’ to (his) city, which more than any other has become popular in Italy and around the world for being, at Christmas time, a magical place with its characteristic and superb light installations.
Last year, the switch-on on Immaculate Conception Day, in the midst of Covid-19, succeeded in illuminating one of the darkest periods in recent decades in the run-up to Christmas. The illuminated balconies, from the ZO to the historic centre, not excluding the hillside areas and some small municipalities in the province that joined the initiative, succeeded in bringing a smile to the people of Salerno, who together looked to the future of their city, imagining a new start and warming the December atmosphere in a mix of hope and joy. Today, apart from Luci D’artista, IlluminiAMO Salerno is ready to write its second chapter.
LIGHTS OF MINERVA
Once again this year, Salerno’s artist lights will reach the Minerva Gardens! Visit ‘Lumina Minervae’ every day from 17:00 to 20:00. The cost of the ticket is 3€, and the entrance to the Minerva Gardens is located at Via Porta di Ronca 15, Palazzo Capasso.
NUOVA PIAZZA DELLA LIBERTà - SALERNO
For the Luci D’Artista show, it will be possible to visit the new Piazza della Libertà.
The event, supported by the Campania Region and organised by the City of Salerno, is scheduled to take place from next November until after the Epiphany.
The assembly of the illuminations has already been carried out in the eastern part of Salerno and Via Mercanti in the old city centre. The assembly of Luci D’Artista will follow in the coming days.
